Widespread Temps in the 20s Much Of This Week

WEATHER ALERT FOR A HARD FREEZE IN THE VALLEY - TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY & FRIDAY MORNINGS.

A push of cold, very dry Canadian air arrives Monday evening, lowering dew points into the teens Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday. Gusty east winds are expected and could keep breezy areas above 32 degrees. However, calm wind spots are likely to drop into the mid 20s and possibly lower 20s. The all-time record for the coldest October temperature at PDX is 26 degrees.  The all-time record may fall and daily low temp records will likely fall in calm wind zones.

Model dew points drop to near 10 degrees Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, which is very rare for any time of the year and especially rare for late October.  Outdoor water lines that may freeze, should be turned off and allowed to drain.  Outside faucets should be disconnected from hoses and other deep freeze precautions should be taken.
