Normal rainfall, A Few Wind Events

By Rod Hill on 2009-11-30

Looks like November will close Monday with below normal rainfall for PDX.  The 30-year average is 5.61" at the airport.  Portland will likely close with 5.12" of rain.  The biggest memory will likely be a few moderate wind events, the strongest produced a 95 mph gust at the coast and 57 mph gust near Vancouver lake on the 16th.  The peak wind gust in Portland of 51 mph on the 22nd was the highest of the month at PDX.  All and all we escaped November will no "big" flooding event or memorable low pressure storm.   I should mention the hefty start to the mountain snow season.  As of today, Timberline Lodge has had 137" since October 1st.  The resort's reported base is 64 inches.
